National Service

yesterday, news broke out that Form 5 students can find out if they are one of the 'unfortunate' picks to become PLKN trainees. idk if the word 'unfortunate' is quite right to describe these trainees, bcos NS has its pros and cons, the cons being more in number generally than the pros, so they say. but to be fair, i would like to list down the benefits AND detriments of being part in this 'military nightmare'.

PROS;
- you'll be fitter, stronger, blablabla (anybody heard of GYMS before?? yahh)
- you'll make lots of friends (facebook, anyone??)
- you'll be more disciplined and learn useful skills.(yawn)

CONS;
- you'll get 'unwanted tan' ( i can't afford that!)
- you'll be away from your family and home-cooked meals. (NO!)
- you won't get to listen to your iPod as much as you wanted to.(gasp!)
- a High and Tight haircut for boys. (ain't very attractive to most guys, no offence)
- if you are in the last batch and you're already in college, your studies will be discontinued, so you'll miss out on a lot of stuff, even though you can leave the NS grounds earlier. (BOO!)

to be frank, there are still more advantages. but i chose not to look up all the other goods because i wanna prove my point that NS has more cons than pros. HAHA. the result came this afternoon and i found out that i'm not chosen to be a slave/soldier/trainee of 3 months to this government-based organization or whatever it's called. if i am, i can't blog for three whole months. that's worse than to get unwanted tan. well, okay, both situations equal each other, HAHA.
