Here's a test for you.
If you think you will be the same person 5 years from now, think again.
Pack your bags, hug your relatives and kiss your house goodbye. Go to a place somewhere far from home, so far that you have to take a plane homewards. Make it an initiative that you're here, in this foreign place, for work purposes or to study to make a living from scratch.
Come back home once a year. See the changes that have transpired to your hometown. Do that every year for 5 years, and everyone else could see the alterations that have happened to you too. As much as you wanna keep it under wraps, people notice.
You have changed.
If you used to be forthcoming and imminent towards others, maybe half a decade later, you don't even glimpse at them anymore. Or maybe if you used to don on simple outfits, you bedeck yourself with lavish designer garments afterwards. And as your friends, they don't mind if you like being loaded with cash and wanna show it to others. But there's one thing that's clearly not wedged in your head that you should have kept for eternity ; that is to always remember your roots. Hedge up the fact that you're from a small and humble heritage, with customs and traditions and religious duties to carry out till your last breath. Don't forget where you stand in this globe, and bear in mind that people only hold you in the highest regard for what you are as a person, and not because of which Prada bag your are adorning.
If only you have never been away to the foreign lands, you would've been the same as before.
I'm so sorry, Zaf *sad face*
ReplyDeleteIs this about me? Cuz it kinda sounds like me only...I'm not materialistic *smiles* Hahahaha! But seriously, hang in there.

ReplyDelete*tears up* Awwwww~! (I've become a sap since then haha! xD) But...okay...*grins*. Considering we haven't even talked that much during form 3, it's funny how you assume that I'm still the same old Su. But thanks *tears up again*
