Holidays

I'm home, alhamdulillah!

No cheers or applause? Very well.

Anyway, yesterday was my sister's 17th birthday. We celebrated with a nice batch of Baskin Robbins ice cream + homemade brownies. Drool! I gave her the birthday present that I bought on Thursday (classes finished early that day so the four of us went to Alamanda and burned a hole in our pocket) and another slightly late birthday present for my mom as well. Needless to say, they both liked the presents of course.

Thankfully, there was only one lecture in the morning yesterday, and Prof Khin made it so light and funny. Her mood was cheery, maybe it was because the holidays are getting nearer. Usually she's very stern. I was proud of myself for not dozing off during class! I never fall asleep during class, but there came a time where I would completely give up on paying any attention. I was perfectly awake, despite the boring topic she was lecturing about. Histology is generally very dull and boring, so it wasn't surprising that I was desperately trying to be attentive, no matter how fun the class was.

Unfortunately Dr. Ahmad wasn't lecturing yesterday. He's the cute Arabic lecturer. Aina likes him a lot. And when I mean a lot, I mean asking him to sign the attendants' list when it's not her job to do so kinda thing. Hahaha.

Prof Khin mentioned that Thursday's Anatomy quiz was already up. My heart jumped, because I sure as hell didn't think that I did very well. True or false questions are so much harder than objective questions, mind you. After the lecture, all of us went down to the second floor and headed to the Faculty of Medicine to check our results. Alhamdulillah, all praise to Allah, my result turned out better than expected! I was happy indeed :) My housemates took a picture of us afterwards, just for kicks.

HOUSEMATES! From left : Aina, Miru, Me, Fatihah and Nada. Tharani, my other housemate was taking the picture. Wong was missing, we had no idea where she was haha.

After the 30-minute break we had a reflection session with our mentor, Prof Swe. She had a go at Aina and Wong for not doing very well on their quiz, but she was very kind at it. Poor them, they hadn't any idea on how to use the true/false answer sheet. None of us had any experience in it anyway. She also mentioned that all of us have to study for at least 6 days during our 9-day holiday. Dead. Although I doubt that I could achieve that 'goal', I'll give it a try. There are too many temptations though, for an example, FOOD, FOOD and MORE FOOD. All 7 of us turned to look at each other with smirks on our faces. This is going to be a challenge.

Us right before Prof Swe came into the discussion room haha. It was hard to get ALL of us into the pic!

Eid is tomorrow! I still can't quite believe it. Farewell Ramadhan, we'll meet again. Happy Eid Mubarak to everyone :)

xoxo,
Zafirah.
