Do you find it weird that I start to like makeup? I don't know about you, but I am so freaked out about it. I've actually loved watching tv programs that let people transform into a different version of themselves. They would get their makeup done, their hair fixed and a better sense of fashion. I used to just love watching people do their makeup, but now I actually want to try it on my own face. I know, it's crazy. But then again, it's not. I'm an adult now and it's only natural for me to care about how I look. And as the Asasi Dinner's drawing nearer, people are all talking about what they're gonna wear that night. Some are even going out for the weekend to buy their outfit. As for me, I've already planned what I'm gonna wear since the first semester. My dark green kaftan has only been worn once, so I'm not gonna spend my money on something that I'm wearing for a few hours and then be kept somewhere in my closet for the rest of my life.
My kaftan is green. It's not blue, which is the compulsory colour for the night. The theme for the dinner is elegant oasis. Whatever that means. Colour permitted for that night are blue, white and black. So, does that mean that I'll be kicked out of the hall if I were to wear green? This is utterly ridiculous. But I don't care. I'm not gonna spend my money on another dress. Besides, I don't think I'll be the only one breaking the rules.
This week will be hectic. There will be an arts appreciation night this Friday night. Then on Saturday all of us are going out to buy some stuff for the dinner. The dinner will be held on Sunday itself. Amir's performing on Friday night, and he's been rehearsing all week. Shazana and I let out an enormous chuckle when we saw the ad for it. Right at the bottom of the banner, the words "A special performance by Asasi's Got Talent's winners" were written. I mean, it's Amir. They made it sound like his band is Palam's very own celebrity. Ohmygosh 'budak pemes' is our friend. Woohoo. LOL. All of us have gotten really close now. We have dinner together almost every night. And last week he introduced us to his dancing friend, Dayana. She's really petite, cute and extremely friendly.
Anyway, guess what I just heard? Two of my housemates, Hadira and Fuza are gonna be emcees for Friday night! It was awesome to hear that because we'll be there to support them, and Amir too of course. Amir joked that he'll be doing a gimmick just like the one he did during Asasi's Got Talent, which was he sang to a girl and practically knelt down in front of her. Shaz and I didn't watch the performances. We didn't really know him back then. Guess whose his victim for Friday night? Me. And Shaz will be his victim for Sunday's dinner. WHAT. I refused of course, but he didn't really look like he was joking. I guess I have to be a good sport and just go with it, but it would be deeply embarrassing. I so totally can't wait. Yeaaaay.
