The title stimulated your interest didn't it?
No? Oh okay.
While other 18-year-olds celebrate their birthdays with a bang, and I mean that literally, getting BANGED, I got cosy in my own home and watched tv, played my guitar, had a few laughs and....got wet.
Well if you must know (which I'm sure you couldn't care less), I had to accompany my mum at the primary school to pick my sister up. It wasn't raining then, but just as it was time the students were released by the teachers, the rain came in full force. My mum and I had to grab separate umbrellas because the rain was pouring so heavily. But, in my mum's words "We didn't need an umbrella at all, did we?". Indeed, mum and I were soaked from head to toe by the time we reached school grounds. My jeans was sweeping the floor, my glasses wasn't helping me see at all. When we got back home, all of us had warm baths and drank hot cocoa. We were all having a good laugh about the incident, and my mum said "Well, happy birthday!". Yeah, mum. Just what I wanted. A wet birthday. Lol. But I enjoyed it actually. I didn't mind getting wet at all. It was uncomfortable but the feeling of contentment never left my heart. Maybe it was because on this day, I turn 18. And I'm happy.
That night, my mum cooked a feast and my face lighted up more than most days. I read all the birthday wishes from my Facebook and Twitter friends and my heart just fluttered with gayness. It was an incredible feeling to get warm wishes from people. It just was. Kim Kardashian and I share the same birthday, but I bet she her cake didn't taste as good as mine! Mine was baked with love, while hers was probably all money and no heart. Teehee. I'm being biased of course.
In the end, I thank Allah that I'm still breathing. He has given so much for me, good and bad. I'm grateful to Him for filling my life with wonderful friends and an amazing family that support me no matter what. I hope that on this day, next year, and the year after that, I'll get to celebrate what I have and appreciate every second of my life. And I have Allah to thank for blessing me with such wonders. Till next time :)
