Cardboard Humanoids

Let's be truthful. I actually enjoy watching action movies, particularly superhero ones. I love the effects that they make and I'm always amazed by how remarkable and intricate the details are when making these movies. And I don't know, maybe it's also because it's comforting to think that people are much crazier than me in this life. Haha.

When i heard about 'The Spirit', I thought it would be cool, because the setting is the present time but the style of clothing portrayed in the movie was from the 1930's. And the special effects were like WOW, and interesting. But I'm not someone who watches every movie that comes out so I didn't watch it until today. Amazingly, the movie was completely horrendous. The effects were what i expected, which was awesome. As I was so ignorant of the whole concept of what the film is about, I looked forward to watching it because i was attracted only by the spectacular CGI. But whoever wrote the script should be kicked out of the business! The film is just so excruciatingly horrible, even toddlers could make a nicer movie about teddy bears and I would watch that instead.

Maybe I'm a little biased because I have not read any of the comic books, but I don't think I have gone too far. I mean, a lot of people haven't read the Marvel comics but all of them liked the movies. The plot of this film is okay, but the acting was like, BAD. Samuel L. Jackson was kinda good, but the others had no emotion coming out of them. I don't understand why, maybe it's because the characters are supposed to be that way or the scriptwriters are actually robots with superficial feelings.

And the most annoying thing is the number of scantily-clad women in this major motion picture. Like, there were so MANY, and most of them ended up lip-locking with the hero. I don't get the whole thing about The Spirit and these women. Why is he such a player? Is this how a hero's supposed to be depicted? I admit that Gabriel Marcht (Denny Bolt/The Spirit) is sort of hot in this movie and he is mostly why I finished watching the whole thing. It was pure torture, to be honest.

The film is definitely not for everyone, maybe weirdoes but it's clearly not for me. This isn't saying much, but to get a clearer picture, just see the film and judge it for yourself. It's bizarre and you'll end up wondering why this film even existed in the first place.
